This award-winning photograph, taken at lake Balungen in Enviken, Dalarna, captures a lone tree standing on a small piece of land, surrounded by the still waters of the lake and enveloped in mist. Having visited this tree many times before, the perfect conditions finally arrived one morning—soft fog drifting over the water, gentle light filtering through, and an atmosphere of quiet solitude. The image was awarded a gold medal in the Swedish Championship of Photography 2020 in the landscape category, a testament to the beauty and stillness of the moment.
